About Loquita

 

Loquita serves authentic Spanish food including hot and cold tapas, wood-fired grilled seafood and meats, and seasonal paella. The Mediterranean climate and terroir of Santa Barbara County mirror that of Spain, making the translation of locally sourced produce, meats and seafood an ideal match. The wine list is comprised almost entirely of Spanish wines with exceptional local wines that pair well with the cuisine. Loquita’s cocktail list showcases Spanish vermouths, farmers’ market Sangria, hand-crafted cocktails and a rotating selection of Spain’s king of cocktails, the Gin-and-Tonic.

Executive Chef Peter Lee

 

Peter Seung Lee learned his way around a kitchen at an early age and much of his home life was centered on the pride and tradition that came with preparing food of his rich Korean heritage. His illustrious resume includes Sous Chef positions at El Dorado Kitchen in Sonoma and the acclaimed Gusto in Los Angeles. In the summer of 2015, he was selected among many hopeful candidates to work at the award-winning Jöel Robuchon in Las Vegas. Here, Peter learned discipline and creativity, producing menus from local produce and specialty purveyors while working under the enormous pressures and scrutinization that comes from a Michelin-starred restaurant and celebrity chef. At Loquita, Peter’s cooking is a departure from his gastronomic heritage and professional background yet he is confident and intensely passionate about Spanish food.
